Concerns to Danish government to cut support to the global fight against HIV/AIDS

The letter of concern by the Implementer’s Group of the Global Fund Board  to the Danish Government linked to below was sent  on October 20, 2015, in reaction to its plans to cut their support to the global fight against HIV/AIDS.

Your Excellency,

With your Governments’ long-term contribution and serious commitment to keep-up the ODA promise of over 0.7 percent, Denmark has been able to support the Global Fund for more than a decade and thus helped saving lives. It is with great concern, however, that we have learned that the Danish government is preparing a finance act that includes substantial cuts in your support to the global fight against HIV/AIDS. Please find attached our letter of great concern, which is supported by the Implementer’s Group of the Global Fund Board.

Yours faithfully,

on behalf of Allan Maleche and Natalya Nizova,

(Chair and Vice Chair of the Implementer’s Group of the Global Fund Board)
